Reviews
"Midnight Pictures grabs the audience's attention thanks to an intelligent script.
Dark Light happens to be a techno-biological thriller with great suspense ...
Midnight Pictures have taken a brand new approach to the vampire myth.
They didn't copy all the things we have seen many times about the creatures."
"There is at least one FM!RT! moment (in case you don't know, the last
three words stand for '... me! Rewind that!') for which you can only applaud
Barton. I hope, for his sake, it didn't require many takes. It's things like that
which keep you watching, with energy and enthusiasm papering over the
inevitable cracks more than adequately."
"There are some nice interpretations on the vampire theme, such as retaining
abilities of telepathy and heightened speed and strength, which although we
have seen before are pulled off brilliantly without being too hokey. The film
is well directed ... The FX and editing and quality script make this an
enjoyable, quality slice of entertainment. Unlike bigger budget films,
there are few holes in logic, all the bases are covered, including the
clever twist Prince of Darkness (John Carpenter) type ending,
and at 68 minutes in length you leave the film wanting more."
"One of the best amateur movies I have ever seen, and over the years I have
seen hundreds ... The style and pace were both stunning and exhilarating at
the same time. A number of clever edits and spot-on sound effects, mixed
with a very catching soundtrack, had the audience hooked from start to finish."
